Free Women’s Health Services and Support

Confidential Health services in South-central kansas

As a non-profit, pro-woman organization dedicated to providing holistic reproductive health services at no cost at our location in Hutchinson, Kansas, we at Open Door Health Services put women first.

We understand that each person's situation is unique. Our care extends to your physical, emotional, and spiritual health in a safe, supportive, and professional environment. We believe that individuals deserve to get answers and services from a place that does not profit from their reproductive health decisions. For that reason, we provide the following services at no cost to you.

Reproductive Health

Pregnancy Confirmation

Through medical-grade pregnancy testing, we can verify your body’s HCG levels. If the test is positive, we can schedule an ultrasound to determine how far along you are and if the pregnancy is viable (able to continue on its own). An ultrasound is a painless procedure that uses sound waves to create an image of your uterus. Whether or not you are considering an abortion or not, an ultrasound may be able to determine whether or not you are having a natural miscarriage before you have further symptoms.  A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or an appropriately trained Registered Nurse (RN) performs limited obstetrical ultrasound exams at our clinic(s).

Abortion Pill and Procedure Education

How far along you are can determine the type or cost of an abortion.  It can also sometimes detect an ectopic pregnancy, which can be life-threatening if left undetected. It is not safe to take abortion pills if your pregnancy is ectopic.

At your appointment, we can also discuss:

  • Health conditions that can make someone ineligible for the abortion pill

  • What to expect during an at-home or surgical abortion

  • Recovery timelines and what to do in case of an emergency

  • After abortion care and support options

  • What to do if the abortion fails

  • Your options if you start the abortion process (take the first pill) and change your mind

Confidential STD Testing & Treatment

To safeguard your health, we provide free STD/STI testing and treatment for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia with our qualified nursing staff. Contact us to schedule an appointment and learn more about reducing your risk of contracting an STD or STI.

An ultrasound can confirm whether your pregnancy is progressing, if you are beginning to experience a miscarriage, if the pregnancy is located inside the uterus, and verify how far along you are. If no intrauterine pregnancy is detected, you may be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy—a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention. Ultrasound findings may also affect what medical options are available, including the type of abortion, or when prenatal care should begin.
